The Ypsilanti Food co-op is a vital local link in the world-wide effort to envision and then build a lower-energy future for our community; one that is more meaningful, less destructive, more connected, more just, and more resilient in the face of global warming, economic upheaval, and energy scarcity.  

The Co-op serves as both a working model and an inspiration about the rewards and gratification of that future.  Since education and community building are important parts of our mission, The Co-op is a central leader and teacher about these new visions for Ypsilanti’s future.
